You own a shop, and it was hit
A fundraiser helps, but it replaces neither insurance nor public support. Here is what has been announced, and the first steps. Details are changing: check with the services listed.
Support announced by the government
- Short-time work covered at 100% from Tuesday 20 October, for affected shops.
- Cash-flow support of up to EUR 50,000 at zero interest.
- Spreading of tax and social security charges over time.
- A dedicated support fund, whose terms had not yet been published as of 20 October.

The first steps
- File a police complaint, and keep the receipt: your insurer will ask for it.
- Photograph the damage before tidying up, and list the stolen stock with the invoices.
- Report the claim to your insurer as soon as possible. According to France Assureurs (the French insurers' federation), most shop owners' policies cover riots and civil unrest. Business interruption, however, is an option: reread your policy.
- Contact the CCI (chamber of commerce) in your département, which helps businesses with these steps.
Your fundraiser
If strangers have opened a fundraiser in your name, report it to the platform to have the funds frozen. If you started your own, share it on your own accounts: that is how people know it is real. And tell us, so it can appear here, verified.
